MASTER JUDGE ACCESSORIES

One must dress for success. Professionals, craftsmen and barbeque competitors all wear appropriate clothes for their field. I wear a custom 'Master Judge' shirt when I perform BBQ judging duties. It was time to accessorize my judging attire. Behold the latest Chilebrown '1977 Limited Edition Kingsford Belt Buckle". This paticular buckle is numbered 282 out of only 1000 made. The next competition you will see this judge strutting in style.

  1. You will "wow" 'em! But I don't understand the "spring planting" - is this the same Kingsford who makes charcoal?

  2. Zoomie, The answer to your question is yes. The women I bought it from worked for Clorox who owns Kingsford. I contacted Kingsford and they acknowledged it was a promotional item from the 70's but did not have an explanation. It is a mystery for now.

  3. So just how does one become an official bar-b-que judge any way?

  4. Toons, It is really simple. You have to have a passion for BBQ. Go to competitions and meet people. You will have to take an all day class to get certified. Your first step is to go to the Kansas City Barbecue Society site. They will have listings of competitions and class schedules. Hope to see you soon at a competition.

  5. Chilebrown, me and the better half became certified judges this past weekend. We even took the table captain class. We hope to someday join you in the ranks of Master BBQ Judge. Second only to obtaining Jedi Master status... ;)

  6. Three Dogs BBQ, That is awesome! Congrats. I believe it will help your competition by learning what the judges are looking for.

  7. BTW, #297 is for sale on e-bay at this moment. Maybe something for Mrs. Goofy?

  8. Three Dogs BBQ, I saw that on E-bay and I believe 282 is way more valuable. At least to me.
