SAM'S CLUB NATIONAL BBQ TOUR 2016 RENO
Let the games begin. We are happy to announce our official beginning of the bbq competition season. This weekend we are traveling to Reno, Nevada for a Regional 4 qualifying round of bbq competition. The winners of this contest will be able to advance to the semi-finals to be held in Las Vegas. We are polishing our judges badges as we speak. Stay tuned.

That rig looks like a nice way to get between contests.
Big Dude, The KCBS reps travel in style. I bet it has nothing on your rig.
We can't make Sam's Club this year- I am depending on you to protect our highest judging principles single-handedly...
And I knew it-
"The currency of hipster braggadocio is authenticity, and outdoing one another in consuming authenticity is the how the status game is played. Bacon consumption serves as a unifying signal to other hipsters, who also play the same bacon-centered status games, and who recognize each others' preoccupations with bacon as a sign of like-minded status. Incessant bragging about bacon consumption and the use of bacon in unlikely foods (bacon milkshakes, bacon cones, bacon ice cream, bacon chocolates, bacon cupcakes, etc.) is perhaps the new way to compete with your peers. It is the symbolic value of bacon as a shared cultural status symbol that confers attention and admiration from one's hipster peers, who also recognize bacon consumption as a sign of earned authenticity and (somewhat ironically) individuality."
You're a HIPSTER!

Aaron, First of all, I was hoping for your support in Reno because I believe the same representatives are overseeing the contest.
Second, I take issue with being accused of being a hipster. The problem with Rahul Kamath, self proclaimed believer in kindness is he is a man-bun wearing paste eater. Let's examine this from a socio-cultural perspective; NO. My love of bacon has nothing to do with fetishization (his word)but the appreciation and passion for cured pork belly. Hipster will fade away just like the ink covering their skinny jean wearing torso's. I will still love bacon. Word.
Aaron,
P.S. I did get a chuckle out of the article.
We flew home to book this venue in June last year. Absolutely loved it here and I'll be certainly waiting to go back there for more events. Regardless of the time of your event, you always get the same thing at LA venue: reasonable drink prices, great decoration, & friendly staff.
